i've been focusing on getting a job for next school year and it's been pretty stressful as well as time -consuming. my mom has been nagging the heck out of me for, well, forever about any job opportunities i could have since my dad still doesn't have a job and we are pretty much as poor as dirt... or so she makes me believe.
i'm finally beginning to see the fruits of my labor: i had an interview last week with a school, an interview today, and an interview on monday. now is the time that administrators try to call... i got freaked out since the ou job fair was so early. i figured that school districts would be calling about positions in april or may. i'm sure they do, but i wasn't one of the fortunate ones that was called. the jobs i'm interviewing for sound great and i'm really excited to talk to the principals about the positions.
anywho... just wanted to update a bit... wish me luck!

i was looking at swimsuits yesterday at old navy and i found the cutest suit. it ended up being a 1X that was on an XL hanger but it fit so well that i honestly didn't care. it's still a little big through the back, since my bust is more like 42" at the fullest point, not 43.5" but it's a halter, so it'll stay up. i actually think it looks better on me than it does on the mannequin on the site... but maybe that's just me. here's the suit: clickity-click. i'll have to show you a photo of me so that an unbiased decision can be made. :) i love the suit. and even if i lose some weight, which i still would love to do, this suit will take me through the summer at least, when i won't see a ton of progress immediately, you know?
last night i exercised on the bike. i did the program i usually plug in, plus some more. i went eight miles, burned somewhere around 400 calories and didn't lower the intensity once, even though it got pretty rough there in the middle at resistance number nine. phew!
i'm trying to increase my water intake since the hotter weather has arrived and with this excess body weight, i sweat quite a bit more than i feel comfortable with! anywhos... i'm up a bit in weight but i'm going to combat that within the week by exercising five days this week and eating mindfully.

stressing out
at a standstill, an impasse, in nearly every part of my life. it's completely frustrating. i really need support and about all after being under the weather (and recovering quite nicely, thank you), i've recently been stressing out over the prospects of getting a salaried form of employment next year. i feel like i'mi'm getting is threats and general rudeness. for those of you who have said, "i'm sure something will work out," thank you for your encouragement.
it's rough because i feel the doors closing in my face, even though it's just people not calling me back. i'm showing interest and doing as much as i can but it doesn't seem to be enough. maybe i should just apply to a school down south... it seems like i might need a break from everyone here, though that was my original reason for not wanting to leave.

the little things
i know i shouldn't be so concerned with the little weight shifts and such but if it's a decrease in weight, i see it as progress... i stepped on the scale today and weighed 181.6.
some of this is probably water weight fluctuation and whatnot but it's encouraging. and when it comes down to it, i definitely need encouragement, even if it's a little bit. maybe it'll only take me a week to get down below 180. that would be pretty awesome.

i'm totally at a standstill
i haven't been able to do anything much on the weight front besides not gain a whole lot. this morning i weighed 183, so that's not too terrible. i haven't been doing the things i need to do to lose so i'm not expecting a miracle.
what i have been doing is trying to get a teaching job for next year, which is quite stressful. i'm not an A+ interviewer but i think i did pretty well at the OU teachers' job fair about a week ago. that weekend though, i was in the wonderful hocking hills of ohio for a getaway weekend with my boyfriend and some friends. i didn't overeat but i didn't really watch what i ate either. i danced around and had fun though, which i think helped burn off a little.
i think one of my problem areas was at the new job i had where i was scoring tests and such. i would get so ravenous or about to fall asleep that i felt i needed food or coffee with lots of creamer and sugar in it. i would also either bring junk in beforehand to munch on or i would make a quick run on my way home and devour the food before i set foot in my front door. i know that this assignment had me working through dinnertime but i KNOW there has to be a better way to deal with that. the assignment is now over but if this problem occurs in the future, i'll know what to do.
i was looking into pilates classes, along with possible hip-hop and/or belly dancing classes. i might go back to tanze because i had a good experience there (which seems like a lifetime ago, btw). i need to check out their prices and time slots... then i'll see if jenny wants to join me. :)
i've been really sick and congested for the past few days, so that's really hindered both my motivation and ability to be able to do anything that i'd like to do. my first mini-mini-mini goal is to break the 180 lb. barrier. should be pretty easy and i was nearly there before... if i can make it there in the next couple weeks that should be good. i'm running the marathon... not the sprint.... and my workouts and nutrition will reflect that.

phew! went on a bike ride this morning because it was absolutely gorgeous outside. i wasn't able to go as far as i would have liked but i'm getting back into it and i at least rode on variable-inclined ground for a good 25 minutes. i forgot how much wind-resistance detracts from your ability to just go. i've been inside using the recumbent bike all winter and forgot what it's like to exercise outside! ;)
it was really great just chillin' with my iPod but i'm so ready for a nap now... :) i hope i'll get to the point where exercising energizes me instead of lethargizes (is that a word? lol) me.

hanging in there
i haven't been eating as on-track as i should but i'm eating when i'm actually hungry and stopping when i'm full. i'm thinking about joining this new gym in the area, i just have to call to see figure out the costs of getting a membership.
there is a necessity to purge all of my older clothing and stuff that doesn't fit anymore. everything is crowding my life and i can't even enjoy life because i'm wrapped up and overwhelmed by stuff. this weekend i'm diving in without the floaties. it's happening because i'm just fed up. typing this here will help make me do it because i will ultimately have to come back to the blog and be honest with myself about the progress made.
in other news, the scale hasn't been too evil to me today... :)
